Advanced Technology and an ABS Module Ready to Fit

We have test benches and state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment that allow us to detect electronic faults even at microelectronic level.

After the repair, we return the ABS module to you ready to fit in the vehicle, fully checked and calibrated.

This way we save the workshop from having to carry out additional complex dismantling or waste time on reprogramming: you will only have to install the repaired unit and the braking system will be operational again.

Our technological efficiency minimises waiting times (usual repairs in 48 hours) and ensures that every module works again as if it were new, with a warranty of operation and reliability.

Symptoms of a Faulty ABS Module

Symptoms of a Faulty ABS Module

  • ABS warning light on: The ABS warning light on the instrument cluster stays on, either steady or flashing. It is the clearest sign that something is not working properly in the anti-lock system.
  • Vibrations in the brake pedal: You feel the brake pedal vibrate or pulse unusually during normal braking. This can happen if the ABS activates erroneously or if there is an internal malfunction.
  • Uneven braking or pulling to one side: The vehicle tends to pull to one side when braking or the braking distance is longer than normal. A faulty ABS module can cause one wheel to brake with a different intensity or the ABS system to not regulate the braking pressure properly.
  • Other safety warning lights on: In some cases, an ABS fault can disable associated functions such as stability control (ESP/ESC) or traction control (ASR/TCS). This shows up as the warning lights for these systems being lit on the dashboard, alongside the ABS fault.

If you notice one or more of these symptoms, it is very likely that the ABS module needs inspection and professional repair. Ignoring these signs could compromise the effectiveness of your brakes and the safety of the vehicle.

Common Faults in ABS Modules

Common Faults in ABS Modules

ABS modules (also called ABS ECUs or ABS control units) can develop a number of typical faults with use and over time. The most common faults we fix at Ecumotorstock include:

  • No communication with the ABS unit: The diagnostic scanner cannot connect to the ABS module, reporting a communication fault (the ECU does not respond). This fault is usually caused by internal defects in the module's electronics.
  • Hydraulic pump motor failure: The ABS pump motor (responsible for generating pressure in the system) fails through wear or damage to its components. As a result, the ABS may fail intermittently or stop working, logging “defective pump motor” errors.
  • Faulty internal pressure sensor: Many ABS modules include a sensor that measures braking pressure. When this pressure sensor fails, the system detects incorrect values and usually switches on the ABS warning light, storing fault codes specific to the sensor.

  • Wheel speed sensor faults: The ABS works with a sensor at each wheel. A faulty module can constantly report wheel sensor faults (even if the physical sensor is fine) because of problems in the reading circuits. This causes unwarranted ABS activation or deactivation of the system.
  • Internal electronic faults: This includes solder joints cracked by vibration, burnt electronic components, and worn internal relays or solenoid valves. These internal faults generate assorted error codes or erratic ABS operation (for example, random activation, a braking circuit locking, etc.).

Benefits of Repairing Your ABS Module Instead of Replacing It

Benefits of Repairing Your ABS Module Instead of Replacing It

Choosing to have your ABS module repaired by Ecumotorstock instead of replacing it with a new or second-hand one offers numerous advantages:

  • Cost savings: Repairing is usually much cheaper than buying a new ABS module from the dealer. It is also more cost-effective than fitting a used unit of uncertain origin. With our service you save money without compromising quality or safety, getting a module in perfect condition for a fraction of the cost of a new one.
  • Sustainability and eco-responsibility: By repairing, you are extending the service life of an electronic component and avoiding waste. You help reduce electronic scrap and make use of existing resources. At Ecumotorstock we promote the circular economy: it is a more ecological and sustainable solution than indiscriminate part replacement.
  • You keep the original coding: Your repaired ABS module is the same original unit from your vehicle, so it retains the factory coding and the settings specific to your car. This ensures full compatibility when refitting it, with no need for complex reprogramming or teaching the system new components. You avoid configuration problems and make sure all functions (ABS, ESP, traction control, etc.) integrate perfectly as they did before the fault.
