What is a car immobiliser?

The anti-start or lock immobiliser is a security device designed to prevent anyone other than the legitimate owner from starting the car.

It works quite simply: when the system detects the start signal, it checks that the code on the key's chip belongs to the legitimate owner's key.

If not, it immediately cancels the starting sequence, making it impossible for any key other than ours to start the car.

I have decided to deactivate the immobiliser: where do I have to go?

You can go to any of our workshops, or send us your car's ECU by courier. In that case you will have it back in less than 48 hours with the anti-start system deactivated and ready to be fitted to the car.

As well as deactivating the car's immobiliser, we also offer repair services for ABS, airbags, clusters, cards, steering, key copying, and ECU sales and rental.

And a one-year warranty on all our repairs.

Is it possible to repair the immobiliser system?

Is it possible to repair the immobiliser system?

Yes.

However, bear in mind that more than one component comes into play in the car's immobiliser system: instrument cluster, ECU, lock cylinder, chip and transponder.

If the fault lies in any of the components mentioned above, repairing it may well cost more than the car itself is worth, so repair would be neither practical nor advisable.

In such cases, it is always advisable to deactivate the anti-start system completely by software.
